Our Company
Silica Technology Services is a locally registered limited company. It was
created in 1994 to provide technical information technology consultancy services
to the Cyprus market with strategic focus on Government and Financial institutions.
Since its creation, Silica has provided key Technical Consultancy & Project
Management services to Cyprus Government to assist with the delivery of projects
identified in the May 1987 Computerisation Master Plan. It has also delivered
strategic and major consultancy to major organisations in Cyprus and across
the EU.

The Cyprus operation is very much focused on all System Integration activities
covering the major RDBMS platforms, leading operating systems and development
tools as well as Network and Security products. Over the last 8 years some
of this development has cantered around large WEB design and development
as well as Data-Warehousing such as the US$6.5M Maritime Accounting, COntrol
and Survey system (MARCOS) for the Ministry of Communication and Works. The
first phase of MARCOS will be operational in September 2002 and will connect
major cities covering Limassol, Piraeus, New York, London, Hamburg and Rotterdam.

Our Services

- Project Management services. Our highly experienced consultants, who are fully compliant with international standards for project management such as PRINCE can provide day-to-day effective management and control of your projects to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery
- IT Consultancy services, including Strategy and Feasibility Studies, Requirements Analysis, Procurement, Tender production and evaluation, etc.
- Technical Training services. We provide training courses for all of the products we sell as well as skill-based training for those wishing to extend their capabilities. All courses can be delivered at out fully equipped ECDL-certified training centre
- Application design, development, testing and implementation services. Our knowledgeable engineers, some of whom are SSADM and ISO9000 certified, can provide development of bespoke applications using either client/server or web-based tools.
- Application technical support, performance and tuning services. We can provide ongoing support to clients for systems we have developed or help improve performance and optimise existing applications.
- Documentation services. Our highly experienced technical writers can produce specifications, user manuals, online help and other technical material according to our clients’ wishes.
